FAQs

Why is electrolysis better than other hair removal methods?

Electrolysis is the only permanent method of hair removal. Other temporary methods (laser, shaving, waxing, tweezing, etc.) can cause irritation and sometimes make things worse.

Is electrolysis painful?

A brief sensation of heat will be felt. The sensation has been described as a slight, tingling sensation. Whether there is any discomfort during electrolysis depends on a number of factors, including a patient’s tolerance, machine settings, and/or modality used. We are trained to work within the comfort tolerance of our clients.

What areas of the body can be treated?

Hair can be removed from anywhere on the body, with the exceptions being from inside the nose or inside the ears.

How does electrolysis work?

A very fine filament is inserted into the hair follicle alongside the hair, and a small amount of electrical energy is applied. When this is accomplished, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.

How often do I need to come for treatments?

This depends on how much hair you have and what you have been doing with the hair in the past. In many cases, appointments should be once a week in the beginning. A normal range for most people to be in treatment is six months to two years. As we progress, appointments will be made further apart and shorter in duration.
